The Consortium is engaged in six research projects.
We are surveying individuals in Gulf of Mexico communities to assess the health, social, and health-related economic impacts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
We are assessing the economic impacts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill on the fishing, fish/seafood processing, and tourism industries.
We are developing and implementing a community action planning process to increase awareness and use of evidence-based resilience strategies.
We are developing a web portal, tailored to the needs of communities in the Gulf region, to deliver targeted information about oil spills.
We are evaluating the Consortium’s performance as we do our work, to demonstrate success and to improve our research, outreach, and education activities.
