Summary: The Gulf Region Health Outreach Program (GRHOP), which was created as part of the Deepwater Horizon Medical Benefits Class Action Settlement, is a series of integrated, five-year projects designed to strengthen healthcare in Gulf Coast communities in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. The GRHOP is comprised of four projects: the Primary Care Capacity Project, the Mental and Behavioral Health Capacity Project, the Environmental Health Capacity and Literacy Project, and the Community Health Workers Training Project. The GRHOP also incorporates a Community Involvement project that oversees community outreach and works in cooperation with project leaders to coordinate community involvement within and across all GRHOP projects.
